The clients needed extra storage since their garden shed didn’t provide enough space. Their side passage was of little use for them, so the solution was to convert it into a roofed storage space.
We laid down a concrete slab along the side of the footpath to level up and finish the ground floor.
We installed a pressure-treated timberframe roof, with 16 mm multiwall polycarbonate and aluminum joining profiles. Wall nibs and doors were installed at either end to ensure security.
Guttering along the boundary wall and a downpipe channel for the rainwater from the roof were also installed.
The great width of the side passage storage area means that deep shelving can fit along the boundary wall without obstructing access to the garden along the side of the house.
