The clients bought a house with a large garden and wanted to create an outdoor covered sitting area where they could entertain with family and friends whatever the weather, as well an outdoor smoking area and a weatherproof storage area for kids' bikes and toys.

• We built a timberframe sitting area with polycarbonate roof, which lines up with the sitting-room of the house, so that it is easily accessed via a sliding door.
• To shelter the kid's bikes and toys, we built a roofed extension along the outside of the house, level with the ground floor, to the side gate.
